first day......

It's already been 2 weeks! How did that happen? That's one of the reasons I never want school to start... time always speeds up even more. So far so good, though. Everyone likes their teachers, it's fun to see friends again, and little by little we are getting back into the swing of things, even though I am still dragging my feet a little!! We had a nice first day... after a traditional breakfast at McDonalds, they were ready to face another school year. I wish them the very best, and while I'm excited for them, I sure am glad I still have Aidan home this year. He's a pretty fun buddy to have around!

A perfect birthday

This year our annual summer weekend in Shaver coincided perfectly with my birthday! The weekend is always a blast, and so it was pretty much guaranteed fun. So, I started the day sleeping in (this almost NEVER happens!!), and then spent the day hanging out at the lake, watching the kids play, riding around on a boat, and trying out my new camcorder!! Good friends, lots of birthday wishes from friends, and a tri-tip dinner to finish the day off... perfection. I could do that every year!!

nana camp 2 rocks

It happened again this year!! Nana was up for another camp. The kids were BEYOND excited to go... especially Aidan who was invited full time this year!!! He could hardly wait. 4 days of fun for everyone... full of donut eating contests, field trips to Forestierre Gardens, the movies, Janey's pool, and Lost Lake, a bike ride, the sprinkler park, crafts, talent show, cooking, singing, dancing, giggling, etc! The house was SO quiet! It was strange, but kind of nice! When it was all over, we had 7 very happy cousins, 2 tired grandparents, and 4 relaxed parents. (well, I don't know how relaxed the Callaways were since they were busy demolishing a kitchen...D I've said it before and I'll say it again... LONG LIVE NANA CAMP. Thanks Mom and dad!

Montana de Oro

Our annual family trip this year was to the coast... camping at Montana de Oro State Park. It is such a gorgeous area. We were joined by the Meltons, and a great time was had by all. We played at the beach, checked out the tide pools, saw the elephant seals, hiked, ate yummy food, shopped in Cambria, and enjoyed the time together. The kids had non-stop fun with their cousins and friends. It was a blast, as always.

Gorgeous Washington

We love Washington! Every time we go, we wonder why we moved away. It is seriously a gorgeous place and Grandma and Grandpa's house is no exception. It is an amazing piece of property. We love to go and just hang out. The scenery and company are perfect. The kids have a blast and it is SO nice to relax and watch the kids play outside ALL. DAY. LONG! It was also fun to see old friends... We love the Ericksons!

We DID take a little road trip to the Olympic Peninsula. It was INCREDIBLE. We had so much fun hiking and exploring, and yes, visiting the little towns of Forks and La Push. Why not???

I seriously wasn't ready to leave. Kind of wish I was there now. (it's 101 out or something like that!!)

Hope we can go again soon! THANKS FOR A WONDERFUL TIME!!!!

Fresno North Stake YW CAMP

I am a little behind in posting this! This is only a small sample of the pictures that were taken at camp this year... I wish I could put them all! I had an amazing time at BOOT CAMP. I can't say enough about the girls, the leaders, and the blessings that we received. It was incredible.

Sprint Triathlon

Noah and Corey did a sprint triathlon together a few weeks ago. They had to swim, bike and run... Corey's a pro at this, but it was Noah's first time! They did an incredible job.. Noah was a super star... the crowds were totally cheering him on! I was so proud of him... They are trying to talk me and Austen into joining them for one in August. We'll see.
