The patch.
These pics say it all. I went on my LAST trip to the pumpkin patch with a preschool child. Weird. And sad because I love it so much. Aidan was so excited he could hardly sleep the night before. And it was everything he had hoped for.

Aidan's 5!!
I can't believe this little guy is five. My baby boy. He told me that he'll still love me and eat lunch with me even though he's five now. He also wants to know when kindergarten starts. He makes our lives FUNNY! There is never a dull moment with Aidan around. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Big Boy Bed
Our little guy, Aidan, has graduated into a "big boy bed"
after a week of him jumping out of his crib at 5:30 a.m.
to come and say good morning to a very asleep mom.
Seeing as how it has been pitch dark when he's done this,
I've had visions of him landing on dangerous objects
inevitably left on the floor, or strangling himself on
SOMETHING as he vaults to freedom. (these are the
things I think about!) Needless to say, he's been moved.

The crib is down, and the bedding is all ready to donate.
You see, this is a more than Aidan getting bigger... it is
the end of an era. For almost 11 years, we have had a
baby in the crib. As Corey took apart the crib I lovingly
painted for Austen when she was a baby, I grew nostalgic.
Although I feel that our family is complete, I still think
it a little sad that we have left the baby stage behind.
I still call Aidan "baby", but I know that this, too,
will be left behind. It is quite adorable, however, to see
him SO excited to go to bed at night! (and I am happy
to add that I have not seen him during the five a.m.
hour since he switched.... we'll see if this lasts
when the novelty wears off... I'm crossing my fingers!)
