Girl's Camp 09

I was able to spend last week up in the mountains with Austen and 200+ girls. It was an amazing week. Everyone there worked so hard to make it a good experience. I enjoyed so much being there with Austen, watching the youth take over the leadership and do an incredible job, and laughing with friends new and old. I slept very little, but that little sacrifice was totally worth it.

I got to rappel with Austen and I was so proud of her!! She was terrified, but did a great job! (and she was SO excited that she had done it!) I had to act brave while going down at the same time!! I also loved the day we joined the group hiking up to the top of the "Rock". It was a super fun hike and the teamwork AND views I saw were inspiring.

There's so much more to tell, but it's late and I didn't get much sleep last week!! :) Thanks to ALL that made last week so spectacular.

What a week!

It was a big week at the Greenlaw house. Austen finished Elementary School with a whirlwind of activities... Yearbook party, Sparthenian Award, High Honor Roll, Block MV Recipient, a Wild Water party, and even a after school limo ride to celebrate! She is officially done and I still can't believe it. Congratulations, my sweet Austie! Watch out GR!!!

Noah had an awesome last week, too. He received the Character Counts award, Sparthenian Reader Award, he brought home straight A's, enjoyed a fun class party, and performed in the school talent show! (he played the piano and was SO good!!!) He even got to ride to and from school on his scooter with B. I can't believe he's an upper grader!!! Congrats on a wonderful year!

Cute little Ellie finished Kindergarten!! The week was full of fun.. a sprinkler party, a teddy bear picnic, and a Celebration program where all the Kindergartners sing for the proud parents!! She also received the Sparthenian Reader award... this was a big deal. She read and completed 30 book projects this year to earn this. She had a fun year and is very excited to go to 1st grade in the fall. Wow. My babies are growing up!! Congrats to you, Ellie. Thanks for a fun year!

The last week!!!

THE LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL... I don't know why this is so bittersweet for me! Maybe having both a 6th grader AND a Kindergartner is the reason... They are both monumental years.

They also seem to go faster and faster... even Austen told me today that it seems like a few months ago that she started her last year at Mountain View, and now it's quickly coming to an end.

Austen, Noah, and Ellie have had outstanding years full of fun and learning. They have wonderful teachers and friends at the school, and I am so grateful. I have loved helping in their classrooms and attending their activities.

This next week is full of celebrations, awards assemblies, and even a talent show. I can't wait! If you need to find me, I will either be at the school, or doing Girl's Camp stuff!!! (this will be another post!!)

SUMMER, here we come.... I hope it's a nice, long, lazy one!

Memorial Day Camping Adventure

We spent the weekend camping in the Santa Cruz mountains. Beautiful!! Problem is, I packed in sunny Fresno and didn't quite get enough layers in the luggage. Oh well. We were a bit chilly, but that didn't stop us!

We joined the Callaways and the Blatters for some good times! The kids had SO much fun playing together. We took bikes, and we explored the campground as well as took a ride along the beach that was absolutely gorgeous!! (SO gorgeous, in fact, that I had the worst allergy attack of my life... it took 24 hours of LOTS of drugs to get that one under control!) Still worth it!

We also attended a Civil War Reenactment with the kids and watched one of the battles. The kids were fascinated. A great way to spend the Memorial Day weekend. The train ride on the "Roaring Camp Railroad" was a highlight... it was great to watch their faces when the steam engine blew its whistle! We loved it and are so glad we could go this weekend. Thanks for a fun time!! I will post a few more pictures as soon as our photographer sends them along. :)

Baseball and Dance Recitals!

Ellie had her first dance recital this weekend... she was so stinkin' cute!! She was a little nervous, but did a great job!!! The film ended up being a little blurry, but you get the idea....

Also, Noah just finished up another season of baseball. He learned a lot this year and worked really hard. It was fun to go and watch him play. We're so glad that his friend Caden ended up playing on his team.. they had a blast together!

Lots of activities are wrapping up for us... I am SO excited! It's been such a busy school year. It will be so nice to have some down time to catch up... (maybe!)

I do LOVE to watch these guys strut their stuff, though!!! :)

Happy Birthday, Austen!

It's a very bittersweet day... on one hand I can't believe I have a twelve year old. It seems like just yesterday she was learning to walk, going to kindergarten, losing teeth, etc. And now she's in Young Women's, going to Jr. High in the fall, getting prettier every day, and wanting to wear make-up!!!!

On the other hand, I HAVE A TWELVE YEAR OLD!!! She has already had several "practice runs" with the whole babysitting thing, but she is official now! And THIS is very exciting. We are going OUT this weekend and Austen's in charge!! :)

The fact that she is super responsible and wonderful with her siblings makes this even better. Austen is an amazing girl and I don't know what I'd do without her. She has been SO busy this year, and things have slowed down recently. It's hilarious because she's BORED out of her mind!! She will accomplish many wonderful things in her life because of her energy and her dedication. I love her with all that I am. Happy birthday, sweetie. It's been another great year, and I'm excited (gasp!) for what lie in store.

Loved this weekend!!

We had a very full weekend... lots of great stuff going on! The boys took off for the annual father son campout... they had SO much fun and so did we!! I love that the boys get to spend time with their dad...

As soon as the boys got home from the campout, we got everything ready for Austen's 12th birthday party!! We had 18 girls here and boy was it loud!! They watched "Hairspray" outside and pigged out on pizza, soda, popcorn, candy, and cupcakes!! She has such adorable friends.

And today was AWESOME!!! Corey spoils me rotten and I absolutely love it!! Not only did he send me to Women's Conference....he got me an iphone....AND did EVERYTHING today... and I mean everything!!! Breakfast this morning, he got the kids ready, made a delicious dinner for me AND my mom (the kids did help a little... and Dad make the best ice cream I've ever tasted!!!), and put the kids to bed, too..... THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!

Mother's Day is a VERY good idea... and a perfect opportunity to thank all the moms in my life... starting with my own incredible mother who does SO much for me!!! And my mom-in-law Lynn... I am SOOOOO lucky!! I have the BEST mother-in-law... and all my friends and family members (sister, sisters-in-law, cousins, aunts, etc...) who are great moms and I am grateful to learn so much from them!!!

I am SO incredibly blessed to be a mother. Heavenly Father sent me four absolutely amazing children who make my heart grow every single day. They make me laugh, cry, and drive me crazy, but I love every single second I have to be their mommy, and I can't imagine my life without them. Happy Mother's Day to all...

BYU Women's Conference

My fourth year here was a great one. I LOVE walking around campus remembering the "good ol' days", seeing the mountains, feeling the spirit, learning a ton, and being with friends and family. What's not to love... not to mention the mint brownies...Can't wait until next year!
